Mary Jo Leverette, age 94, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away June 27, 2023. She was born February 23, 1929 in Locust Grove, Georgia to the late Henry Carson (HC) and Ruby Lee Crumbley Hammock. She was preceded in death by husbands, Henry Ford Crawford and James Key Leverette; sisters, Hazel Gardner and Ann Gardner; brothers, Bob, Bill, Larry and Jimmy Hammock; son in law, Ron Pippin.
Mary Jo was a graduate of McDonough High School and was a member of First Baptist of Locust Grove. She had a servants heart, visiting the elderly from the church. She enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
Survivors include her sister, Linda Hammock (Edward) Branan of McDonough; children, Alan (Ginger) Leverette of McDonough and Edie Leverette of Yatesville; three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023 - 2:00 pm in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Sunday one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to Southern Grace Hospice or First Baptist of Locust Grove in memory of Mrs. Leverette.
