Martha Joy Roberts

Mrs. Joy F. Roberts, age 92, died November 13, 2018. Mrs. Roberts was born in Savannah and grew up in East Point Georgia. She graduated from Russell High School, Class of 1943, and was employed by the Atlanta Army Depot in the Human Resources Department for 30 years. Mrs. Roberts retired from the Atlanta Army Depot and placed the padlock on the doors when it permanently closed in June,1974. She then became a licensed Real Estate Agent with Century 21 and quickly rose in the ranks of the Million Dollar Club. Upon her full retirement she would enjoy traveling, playing golf, attending her sons men's league baseball games, Georgia Tech football, watching the Braves and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Roberts was a member of East Point First Baptist Church until her move from East Point to Forsyth county in 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, James Tillman (JT) Roberts, son Steve Jeffrey Roberts, twin sister, Alice Boyd and sister Sara Purdie. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her twin sons, Bret Roberts and wife Karla, Bart Roberts and wife Joni - grandchildren, Taylor, Lauren, Bridgette, Sydney, Steve (wife Kelsi) and Cameron Roberts - great grandchildren, Tyler and Stella Roberts - niece and nephews, Jill Boyd Clarke, Jack Boyd, Bill and Donald Purdie. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1, 11:00 AM at East Point First Baptist Church, East Point Georgia, with 2PM Interment at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs Georgia.
