Mrs. Margie Kersey Smith, age 90, of Locust Grove, GA passed away August 3, 2018. Mrs. Smith was born in Zebulon, GA the daughter of the late Viola Quick Kersey and John Henry Kersey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rosmond Smith; daughter, Ethel Warren Harris; brothers, Ed Kersey and David Kersey.
Mrs. Smith enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sewing, riding in the car, the lake and her animals. She is survived by her children, Patricia Lipham of Locust Grove and Joe Smith and wife, Carolyn of McDonough; grandchildren, Jerry Warren, Tracey Fincher, Lee Johnson, Kristy Rodgers, Justin Johnson, Lisa Sims; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Sue Daniels of Jonesboro; brother, Charlie Kersey and wife, Dot of Griffin; sister-in-law, Virginia Kersey of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the memorial service being at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Grimes officiating. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Homestead Hospice for their care and love for Mrs. Smith during her illness.
