Louise Ooten Laskey

Mrs. Louise Ooten Laskey, age 74, of Locust Grove, GA passed away October 6, 2017. Mrs. Laskey was born in Oneida, TN the daughter of the late Elma Lee Chambers Elkins and Milford Ooten. Mrs. Laskey was retired from AAFES where she worked most of her career as a warehouse supervisor. She attended West Sunnyside Church. Mrs. Laskey enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, playing cards, dominos and her evening wine. Survivors are her husband of 34 years, Douglas Laskey of Locust Grove; children, Dennis Chambers (Corena) of Gloucester, VA, Tamma Hemrick (Tim) of McDonough, Keith Young (Gretchen) of Chesterfield, VA, Rod Laskey (Beth) of Charlotte, NC and Michelle Cain of Locust Grove; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Bertie Fox (Jim) of Griffin and Debra Corbissero of Forest Park; brothers, Ray Ooten (Joyce) of Laurel MS and Johnny Newport (Kathy) of Stockbridge; special aunt, Betty Sharpe (Galen) of Morrow; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 – 2:00 PM at the Locust Grove Recreation Center, 10 Cleveland Street, Locust Grove, Ga30248 with Pastor Garfield Chambers and Pastor Anthony Sharpe officiating.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and a reception will follow after the service.For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Hospital.
