John Andrew Berry Jr.

John Andrew Berry Jr., age 87, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024. He was born in Stockbridge, GA on August 2, 1937 to the late J A Berry, Sr. and Elaine Rosser Berry. John was also preceded in death by his brother, Mack Berry. He was a country boy and enjoyed tending to his farm and taking care of the cows. John was an avid Braves fan, he liked to watch GA Tech football and western movies. John and Sara liked to visit the mountains, especially Pigeon Forge and they also travelled to Hawaii a few times and cruised to Alaska. He mostly enjoyed being at home taking care of things or going out to eat. Mr. Berry retired from Gulf Oil after 30 years and the U.S. Post office after 13 years as a carrier. John was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church and the National Guard. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sara Norsworthy Berry, one sister Louise Berry Donley of Daphne, AL; children Lori Berry (Mike Clark) Wilder of Jackson, John Stanley Berry of Locust Grove and Gail Berry (Mike) Mixson of Locust Grove; grandchildren Douglas Alan (Leigh) Kidd, Joshua Edward Kidd, Erin Wilder (Tim) Bowen and John Cameron (Jennifer) Wilder; great grandchildren Lane, Braylee and Emme Bowen, Kollin and Kason Kidd, Lyla, Charlie and Annaleigh Wilder and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 10:00am - 12:00pm at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia followed by a graveside service at Eastlawn Memorial Park at 12:30pm.
