Jenelle Bolan Rogers

Jenelle B. Rogers (Jean) passed away peacefully in her home on September 2, 2022. Jean was born in Gadsden AL on June 15, 1935 to Dewey and Annie Mae Bolan. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Leon A Rogers, brother, Paul Bolan and daughter, Rebecca Ellen Rogers Fuller.

Jean was always involved in the lives of her 7 children attending football games, cheerleading practice, piano lessons and recitals and baseball games. Jean loved college football with her favorite teams being Alabama, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech. Every time one of these teams scored, she would yell “bingo”.

Jean was also a world traveler having visited Paris, London, Rome, Germany, Moscow, Ireland, China, South America, and Egypt. She also visited Alaska and Hawaii as well as many other states. Her other travel love was cruising and she went on many cruises with her friends and relatives.

Jean was a housewife for many years until she decided to start working when her youngest child started high school. She began as a bank teller and over the years worked her way up and retired as a VP of Bank of America. She loved her job, her co-workers and her customers.

Jean is survived by her children Nancy (Mike) Wakefield, Sebring, FL, Debbie (Joedy) Lee, Fergus Falls, MN, Penney (Steve) Smith, Braselton GA, Alan (Sally) Rogers, Acworth, GA, Don (Lisa) Rogers, Clemons, NC, and Karen Bass, McDonough, GA, as well as 11 grandchildren, 15, soon to be 16, great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews she loved as her own children.

Jean attended Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in McDonough, GA.

Funeral services will be held at Haisten Funeral Home, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough GA on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 with viewing from 12:00 to 2:00 and service from 2:00 to 3:00 with reception to follow. Burial will be on September 7, 2022 at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta GA. Pastors Claire Yoder, Bob Tobias and Darwin Caldwell will preside over her service. Ronnie Cantrell will lead the graveside service.
