Emma Andrews, born on July 9, 1947, in Jackson, Georgia, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was a testament to love, strength, and unwavering kindness, transitioned peacefully on June 29, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family.
Emma's life was defined by her deep devotion to family and friends. She found immense joy in the company of her sisters and brothers, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Her love for family extended to her son, Marlon, whom she nurtured and protected with fierce, unconditional love.
In Emma’s career, she drove school buses for the Atlanta Public School System for eight years and was a compassionate caregiver and nurse for over 15 years. Travel was another passion that Emma wholeheartedly embraced. Exploring new places with loved ones brought her immense happiness and created lasting memories. She deeply appreciated life's simple pleasures, especially during her favorite season, fall, when she found comfort in the vibrant colors and cool breezes.
Throughout her life, Emma embodied the spirit of generosity and selflessness. She was a giver in every sense, extending kindness and care to all who crossed her path. Her unwavering support for her son Marlon was evident in every sacrifice she made, working tirelessly to ensure he had every opportunity to succeed. Emma's dedication knew no bounds, often working six to seven days a week and enduring long work shifts, all to provide a better future for her beloved son.
Emma's life was a tapestry woven with love, compassion, and resilience. Her family and friends, who were touched by her boundless spirit and unwavering passion, will forever cherish her memory.
Emma is survived by her only son, Marlon Andrews; his wife, Dr. Angelique Andrews; their children, Mason and Autumn-Victoria Andrews; and loving sisters, June Clemons, Dianne Barlow, Bonnie J. Boswick, and Annette Ingram. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Barlow; mother, Ruby Kate; brothers, Lewis Slaton and Chester Barlow; and nephew, Ryan Ingram.

A celebration of life for Emma will be held Friday, July 5, 2024 1:00 PM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253, a visitation will be two hours prior from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
