Constance “Connie” Patterson Bowen, age 61, of McDonough, went to be with Jesus on February 14, 2024. She was a devoted wife, mother, Memaw, and sister to us all. A graduate of Morrow High (1980) Connie was born on July 15, 1962, to Charles Roy and Willa Mae Patterson in Atlanta, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Ralph Patterson. For just over 28 years, she was an employee of Clayton County Water Authority. She started off as a meter reader but quickly made her way into the accounting department where she eventually retired as a Budget Officer in November 2018.
Connie’s biggest passion was serving her family. She always wanted to make sure everyone else had what they wanted or needed before herself. She always made you feel welcome and loved when you were around her. She was a safe place when needed but she could be a fiery woman if she had to. When she wasn’t taking care of her family, she enjoyed watching college football and NASCAR racing. She loved to spend Sundays texting her son while watching the races. At their house in the woods, Connie would always make sure that the squirrels, deer, and other woodland animals were fed, and she loved having a few cats at the house. Connie is survived by her husband of 38 years Gregory Wiley Bowen Sr, her son Gregory Wiley Bowen Jr, her sisters Patti Bell and Jackie Smith, her daughter-in-law Ashley Bowen, and her grandson Hudson. There will be a viewing at 1pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, GA with a service to follow at 2:00pm. Her final resting place will be at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough, GA.
