Mr. Bobby Asbury Miller of McDonough, GA passed away September 20, 2015. He was born in Ola in 1935, the son of the late Fannie Tolleson Miller and Lorenzo Lee Miller, and lived all of his 80 years in the Ola community. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Joyce Smith Miller; brothers, Bernard and Wesley Miller; and a sister, Josephine Miller Rodgers. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church where he served on various committees and enjoyed singing in the choir and quartet. He graduated from McDonough High School in 1953; then served in the Georgia National Guard and was employed with Atlanta Gas Light for 42 years where he became manager of operations in the Information Systems Department. Bobby was a member of the Henry County Cattlemen’s Association serving as president for about 10 years. He served on the Snapping Shoals EMC Trust Board for 14 years and held the position of chairman for several years. Bobby had a love for raising beef cattle, taking care of the farm, and traveling. Bobby leaves behind a legacy that includes his wife, Beth Miller; children, Sheila and Dean Kelley, Rita and Fred Tilt; grandsons, Jonathan and Jason Kelley, all of McDonough and Luke Tilt of Valdosta; great grandsons, Aidan, Cooper, Colton and Caden; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Alex Stroud and Justin White officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. For those who wish in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 992 Mt.
