Andrew Norman Babb passed away on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023. He was born in Griffin, Georgia to the late Joseph Wesley and Margaret Lois Sims Babb on December 9th, 1947. He is preceded in death by grandparents; Andrew and Annie Steele Babb, Oscar Wesley and Mary Patrick Sims, and daughter Jessica Pirtle.
Andrew graduated from Henry County High School and later in life became a Henry County Deputy Sheriff and a Georgia State Patrol. He played Santa Claus for the Flippin United Methodist Church Christmas party and disabled school children. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He spent 40 years as a long haul truck driver and drove for Volume Transportation where he provided superior service for 20 years. He was an avid Harley rider. Andrew was a lifetime member of Flippen United Methodist where he participated in the Flippen fish fry. Some of his fondest memories were riding around with friends in his Chevy II, trips to Florida, riding amusement park rides with his grandkids, and smoking and grilling food. He enjoyed relaxing by reading and playing on his tablet while sitting in his recliner.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Linda Turner Babb; children Buddy Lee Thomas and Karmon Babb; brother Tommy (Angie) Babb; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
Family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm Thursday, December 28th 2023 at Haisten Funeral Home in the chapel. Funeral service will be held 2pm Friday, December 29th 2023 at Flippen United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
