Helen Leora Crump, 85, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Maysville, Kentucky on April 15, 1932 the daughter of the late Ashby Gilvin and Grace Jones. Ms. Crump retired from East Kentucky Power and she was previously employed at Wald Mfg. Co., Parker Tobacco, R. J. Reynolds and Browning Mfg. Co. After her retirement, she worked as a coffee hostess at Speedway. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Lynn Crump and Carolyn Werline both of Maysville, KY; her two grandchildren, Rachel Ginn (Tyler) and Jacob Lee Werline, both of Maysville, KY and her two great grandchildren, Zander Ginn and Jazmin Lewis both of Maysville, KY. She is also survived by two nephews, Robert Gilvin and Larry Gilvin, a niece, Joyce Browning, three great nieces, Lisa Armijo, Sandra Johnson and Janis Scott and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lee Gilvin, her nephew, Kenneth Gilvin, her ex-husband, Thomas Lee Crump and a life-long friend, Margie McKibben. Helen was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed life to the fullest and the pride and joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She enjoyed family vacations and making people laugh. Funeral services for Helen Crump will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at noon on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 with Pastor Marilyn Rhodes and Pastor Lonnie Blosser officiating. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Werline, Rachel Ginn, Tyler Ginn, Jack Earls, Jimmy Wayne Gilvin, Mary Lynn Crump and Kenny Crump. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM. Memorials may be made to the Refinery Church of the Nazarene Children’s Department or to the Maysville Church of Christ in Christian Union.
