home to be with her Lord and Savior. Darlene was surrounded by her family and friends who
supported her over the last 2 months after battling a short illness.
Darlene was reunited with her husband, Danny Lee Boyd, whom she married November
25, 1969. She was also preceding death by her parents Chester and Lorene Smith.
Darlene was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church, where she was an active
member of the choir and played the piano for over 50 years. Darlene was very grateful for all
her friendships. Everyone called Darlene either “Dee” or “Nanny”. Darlene was a substitute for
Mason County Preschool where she developed many lifelong friendships who have been faithful
friends that visited with her often. Darlene leaves a special place in so many hearts due to her
love for others as well as her patience with children.
Darlene leaves behind 3 daughters Holly Black of Maysville, Danni Lynn Studebaker of
West Union,Valerie (Larry) Dunaway of Maysville. Her grandchildren are her pride and joy.
Amber Mason, Brittany (Alazion) Harrison, Chad Studebaker, Kaylee (Don) Mackey, Cody
Studebaker, Colton Studebaker, Caleb Boyd, Christopher, Leevi, Chandler, and Jarrod
Dunaway. Darlene also has 10 great grand kids who bring her even more joy. Darlene is also
survived by her sister Sharon (Butch) Thomas of Mt. Olivet, a niece, Shannon (David) Allison.
An Aunt and uncle Howard and Alice Stewart of Aberdeen, Ohio. She also leaves a special
friend of 50 years, Velma Butler, of Maysville.
Darlene enjoyed being outdoors, especially sitting on her swing in her front yard. She
enjoyed her grandkids sporting events and was one of their biggest fans. She loved music and
had a heart of gold. She enjoyed eating out with her “Clan” and having get togethers. She
leaves a legacy over the years of her love. She had such a sweet gentle spirit and always put
her family and friends over her own. She will be missed by so many
Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Building Fund, Gideons International or
Hospice of Hope. Services of Darlene will be held at Central Baptist Church, with visitation from
5 to 8 on November 27, 2017 with funeral services on November 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Her final resting place will be in the Maysville Cemetery next to her beloved husband. Pallbearers will be Chad, Colton
and Cody Studebaker, Christopher, Leevi, and Chandler Dunaway. Honorary Pallbearers will
be Caleb Boyd, Jarrod Dunaway and Scottie Muse.
