HOWARD Z. CURTIS age 67, formerly of Oxford, CT passed away in the hospital on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Howard was born in Manhattan, NY on March 26, 1956 and was raised in Westport, CT & eventually relocating to Solon, OH with his wife & four sons. He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother: Lawrence & Shirley Curtis. He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 30 years Jamie Curtis. His four sons Chandler (Emma), Evan, Skyler (Ellie) & Cooper. His grandchildren Oliver, River and Charlotte, who he loved so deeply. Howard’s sister Susan Curtis Ifergan (Charles) of Chicago, brother Wayne Curtis (Amelia) of Washington, and Sister-in-law Jodi Meilstrup (Michael). He loved all his nieces & nephews very much. Although words can never describe how great of a Husband, Father, Grandfather that Howard was, a truly selfless person. He was always so loving, attentive & passionate. He was very funny & quick-witted. Howard rarely made time for himself and always made his family the number one priority. If anyone needed him, he was there and always willing to do everything in his power to help. He was the most generous & kind person we have ever & will ever know. Howard considered a great many friends as family & and cherished all of his friendships no matter how long the distance in-between. As for his passion as a restaurateur and chef, he carried over all those same great attributes. When it came to “showtime,” as he called it, it was do what he said, no questions, and if you’re not needed stay out of the way. Even after having a triple bypass, he was back in action in two months’ time. Howard always treated everyone he worked with like they were family. Howard thought the world of Connolly’s, The Metro Grille, and Mish Mosh families and always spoke of them fondly. Howard was a true gift to all & his memory will always live on in all of us. As Howard said, “The show must go on.” Yes chef! We love you Howard, Dad, Pépère, Chef so much more than we could ever express. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
