Manuel P. Busto

Manuel P. Busto of Bethpage, NY, passed away on June 18, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his devoted parenting partner Paula and was a loving father to Jo-Ann (Edward) Read, Teresa Busto (Chuck Valenti), and John Busto (Christine Coppola). Manuel was a cherished grandfather to Chase and Tessa Read.

Manuel proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army and later retired from the NYPD Transit Division. He was also a proud and devoted member of the "Romeo's Club" (Retired Old Men Eating Out) with whom he went out for lunch every Thursday at 12:00. Manuel was known as a true family man who dedicated himself to caring for his children with unwavering love and support.

He had many passions in life including bowling, collecting antique clocks, and classic cars. Manuel was always impeccably dressed and known for his trademark hat. Following his retirement from the NYPD, he found joy in a second career as a bridal gown salesman, a role he cherished for 20 years.

Manuel took great pride in his heritage, particularly his father's journey from Spain. Family was paramount to Manuel, and he made sure it was always his number one concern and the focus of his life.

Visitation will be held at the James Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will take place at 7:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by interment with military honors on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.

Manuel P. Busto will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, dedication, and zest for life will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
