Elsie Walker Lein

Elsie Ruoff was born on March 3, 1932, to parents Phillip and Stella Ruoff in Ozone Park, NY. She was one of 6 siblings, Brothers Phillip (pre-deceased), Charlie (pre-deceased), John, sisters Teresa (pre-deceased), and Elizabeth.

> She met and married Louis W. Walker ( pre-deceased), they were married in 1949 and together had 6 children: Louis, Dennis, Sharon, Darlene, James (pre-deceased), and Donna.

> Together they raised their family in Massapequa, she also became the grandmother to a total of 22 grandchildren and another 40 Great Grandchildren.

> Elsie enjoyed being around people and spent many years working as a barmaid on the Nautical Mile in Freeport serving customers, many who became good friends.

> She enjoyed spending holidays and the many family birthdays together and was known for a great sense of humor and contagious laugh.

> Her favorite color was any shade of purple which was usually displayed on a designer sweatsuit.

> Even though Elsie served many drinks in her life she never needed alcohol to dance on a table at a wedding, she truly loved life.

> Elise died peacefully at her home in Massapequa on Easter Sunday March 31, 2024 at the age of 92, her legacy is her family tree that will only multiply over time.
