It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmine Cavassi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left us peacefully on October 10, 2024. Carmine, a devoted family man, is survived by his loving wife, Anna; his cherished daughter, Christina; and son-in-law, Nino. He was a proud grandfather to Angelo Carmine and John Anthony, and a doting great-grandfather to Rocco Emanuel, Marco Alexander, and Victoria Elizabeth.
Carmine’s love for his family was boundless, extending to his nieces, nephews, and siblings, all of whom held a special place in his heart. He found immense joy in gardening and fixing things around the house, always eager to lend a hand. A true movie enthusiast, Carmine loved watching cowboy films, monster movies, war stories, and comedies like Abbott and Costello.
Holidays were particularly special to him; he delighted in decorating and making each celebration memorable for his family. His warmth, laughter, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Monday, October 14, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at James Funeral Home, 540 Broadway, Massapequa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 11 AM at Maria Regina RCC, Jerusalem Ave, Seaford, NY. Entombment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY.
Carmine's legacy of love and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He was a bright light in our lives, and though he may no longer be with us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in our memories.
