In loving memory of Timothy Thomas Toler (Tim), born on August 15, 1960, who passed away on November 23, 2023. Tim dedicated 23 years of his life as a shipping clerk for John Henry Company (previously Westrock). A sports enthusiast, he cherished football, baseball, and basketball, with an unwavering passion for the University of Michigan Wolverines.
Tim's charisma was evident in his love for striking up conversations with strangers, a testament to his gift of gab. He found joy in the world of NASCAR and held a special admiration for Darrell Waltrip. Music, especially country tunes and hymns, resonated deeply with him.
His love extended to furry companions, but none held a more special place in his heart than his loyal dog, Sundown. Tim shared countless moments of laughter and connection over the phone with his beloved brother, and he held a lifelong affection for his family.
Tim and his wife, Shirley, embarked on numerous adventures, with a particularly memorable trip to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C., marking the beginning of their shared love for travel. Inspired by Shirley, Tim explored the Carolinas alongside his brother Mark, creating cherished memories that will forever live on.
Tim leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Toler, devoted siblings Claude E. Toler, Vicki Kyser, Stephen Toler, his cherished children Melisa Toler, Christy Hunter, and Misty Syts, grandchildren Mercedes Garza, Shanel Cabrera, Sirena Toler, and great-grandchildren Mari’ella Benson and Ka’harie Allen. May he rest in eternal peace, his spirit enduring in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A visitation will occur Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 1730 East Grand River Ave, East Lansing, MI 48823. A memorial service will occur Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 12 noon with a procession to North Aurelius Cemetery, 1939 S. Aurelius Rd, Mason, MI 48854 for a graveside service to follow.
