Rick Lyon, age 58, passed away on April 1, 2012 in Lansing, Michigan. Rick was born in Mason, Michigan on May 28, 1953 to Dick and Ina (Terrill) Lyon. He graduated from Mason High School in 1971, attended Lansing Community College, and worked for Polaris Surveying before retiring. He enjoyed music of all kinds and was proficient on both drums and guitar. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved spending time in the great outdoors. He is survived by his mother Ina Lyon of Mason, father Dick (Linda) Lyon of St. Johns, sisters Beverly Lyon of Mason, Nancy (Brian Harger) Lyon of New York City, brother Robert (Kathy) Lyon of Mason and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, Michigan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and 1 hour before the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stone Fountain Project at Rayner Park, c/o Dart Bank of Mason, 368 S. Park, Mason, Michigan, or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of McLaren of Lansing SICU for their compassionate and loving care of Rick while he was a patient there.
