He was known for his servant's heart, always eager to help others, whether through his work as head usher at church, volunteering at Sparrow Hospital, or giving of his time and money in other ways- inspiring his family to give back as well.
Paul spent 30 years working for UPS before retiring, but his life was defined by much more than his career. He was a proud Vietnam War veteran, serving his country with honor in combat. His commitment to honoring the memory of his fallen comrades was unwavering, and he took every opportunity to reflect on their service and sacrifices.
A lifelong learner, Paul was an avid reader who loved biographies and the stories of others. His passion for cycling kept him active, and he enjoyed staying physically fit well into his later years. Above all, Paul was a man of faith who prayed daily for his beloved grandchildren and lived with a deep love for the Lord.
Paul was a jokester with a great sense of humor, and his love for life and people was evident in everything he did. He gave much of his time, his energy, and his resources to others, always seeking to make a difference in the lives of those around him.
Paul is survived by his beloved family, including his children, Alan (Krista) and Mark (Andrea); his grandchildren, Madeleine, Elise, Kaylie, Cameron, Reese and Mason Babbitt; his siblings, Keith (Carolyn) and Robert (Beth) Babbitt and Marcia Galbraith; his sisters-in-law, Marlene Andrus, Elaine Carlson, Lucynne Schaefer and Annette Stark and many nieces, nephews and friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness and selflessness.
