Marvin Anson Parker of Leslie passed away Friday February 5th 2016 at the age of 96. He was born at his family home in Leslie on April 21, 1919 to Jason and Lurania Parker. Marvin was preceded in death by his three brothers, Alton (Dorothy) Parker, Ivan (Margaret) Parker, Denzel (Marian) Parker and one sister, Erma (Culver) Bigg. He was also preceded in death by his son Donald Parker.
Marvin graduated from Leslie High School and went on to serve in the United States Army as a medic in World War II. He worked at Wyeth Laboratories in Mason for 47 years.
He was married to Leora M. Ambs for almost 50 years before she passed away. He was blessed with a second love and married Margie Fuller in 1989, when he also gained two more sons, Donald Fuller and Gerald Fuller (deceased). Margie passed away in 1998. Barbara Cunningham was a special companion of Marvin’s for twelve years and passed away in 2013.
Marvin is survived by his loving daughter, Debera Burk (Jimmy Marshall) and son, Donald (Gwen) Fuller, ten grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home in Mason on Friday February 12th from 6 – 8 pm. A celebration of Marvin’s life will be Saturday February 13th at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leslie after the service. A dinner will follow for everyone.
