Leon was born on October 9, 1936. He was raised on a farm, and continued farming throughout his lifetime. Leon retired from General Motors after 27 years.
He loved to hunt, fish, ride his motorcycle, and go on an occasional trip to the Casino. Leon loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was always kind and compassionate, never one with words but his actions proved differently. Leon was always on the GO, and always had a project going on. After no longer able to ride his motorcycle he love to ride quads around the farm. Leon enjoyed a good fish fry at the Steam Engine Show, Pig Roasts, and of course a good game of cards. He also loved to attend an auction sale, and the Jamboree in St. Johns.
Leon was preceded in death by his wives, Cora (Hensley) Rice and Mary (Young Farrier) Rice; parents, Seger and Ruth (Kliensmith) Rice; sister Dorthy Rice (Clark), and grandson, Geno Rice. He is survived by sons, Thomas (Crystal) Rice and Richard Rice; daughters, Deborah Hensley, Charlene (Harris) Rice; brothers, Bud and Leo Rice; sisters, Alice Hazel Marsh, Betty Rice, and Patty Johnson; and many wonderful grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 and will begin at 11:00 AM at JaxNax Church (3905 Clinton Road, Jackson, MI 49201).
