John is survived by his wife, Julie, of 18 years; his sisters, Mary Farrell (Padraic), of Altoona, PA; his sister, Anne Donohue (Neil Russell), of Marquette, MI, and his step children Geoffry Wallace and Victoria Wallace. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Donohue of Avoca, MI.
John was born at home on March 7, 1964 in Kenockee Township, St. Clair County, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He moved around some before settling in the Lansing, MI area where he met his wife in 1994. They were married in 2002.
John was a wonderful husband to his wife, brother to his sisters, and father to his step children. He always had a fond remembrance of his family and friends as well as his rural farming background. John also enjoyed, as he called it “wrenching on cars”.
John enjoyed both playing ice hockey (often with his wife) and rooting for the Detroit Red Wings and the Michigan State University ice hockey team. His family and friends will always remember him as a helpful, kind, and accepting person with an amusing and often mischievous sense of humor. John will be greatly missed.
