in Mackinaw City, MI, and passed away peacefully on April 22nd, 2022, in Lansing, MI at the age of 88.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Robert Cade and her parents. She is survived by her
children Melissa Cade, Cindy Arnold, Mindy (Phil) Nardone, Angie (Steve) Fineis. Her grandchildren
Antonia (Jamison) Siefker, Michael Arnold, Ashley Nardone, Amanda (Chris) DePue, Alyssa (Zack) Pitman, Adam Fineis, and Evan Fineis. Great grandchildren Adam Beall, Matthew Beall, Colton DePue, and Baby Pitman due in June. She is also survived by her brother, James Cassidy of Gladwin, sister, Margie Brooks of Churubusco, Indiana, and several other family members.
Evelyn was born and raised in Mackinaw City and moved to Mason in 1964. She married her husband Robert in 1955. She was kept busy raising her four daughters and welcomed foster children into her home.
Evelyn baked her way into the hearts of everyone she met. She was known for her cakes, wedding cakes, coffee cakes, muffins and, of course, her sugar cookies. If you ever visited Evelyn’s house you could always find a sweet treat to sneak. In addition to baking, sewing brought Evelyn immense joy. She was known for creating many beautiful pieces, most notably her Christmas tree skirts and quilts which will be enjoyed for generations to come.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, Mason, MI. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church, 1010 S. Lansing Street, Mason, MI, with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM and a luncheon following that. Burial services will be following the luncheon at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte, MI.
