It is with great sadness that the family of Colleen “Bean” Mancuso-Gates announce her sudden passing on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the age of 52. Colleen’s memory will live on through her husband of 15 years, Brent Gates, and their children, Shane Gates, Leah Mancuso, and Cassandra Gates. She will be deeply missed by her grandsons Barett and Knox. Colleen will always be remembered by her mother, Mary Ellen Francis-Steeves, her sisters, Catherine Kestler and Christine Ramos, her nieces and nephew, Ashley, Sarah, Samantha, Allyson, and Todd, and her great nephews, Kole and Kaleb.
Colleen was born in Dunkirk, NY and was currently residing in Mason, MI. Colleen enjoyed art, the outdoors, WWE, and had a love for tigers larger than anyone else. She had such compassion for all animals, and was a veterinary technician for many years. Colleen enjoyed time with her family, but especially Sunday night dinners with her extended family. If you knew Colleen, you would know that she had the most infectious laugh. That she overcame so many obstacles in her life and still had a long journey. You would know that the love she had for her husband and children was so immense that she would do anything to take care of them and protect them. She was such an outgoing and creative person, and she will be so deeply missed by her friends and family. We will miss all of the times of her and Christine reminiscing on their childhood, and the way she would “KA-KAW” across the aisles of the grocery store to try and embarrass all of us. We will miss you and your presence in our lives forever, and hope you continue to watch over us all. To infinity and beyond.
At a later date, a celebration of Colleen’s life will be announced. At that time we will ask all of her friends and family to gather so we may properly remember our best friend. In the meantime, please collect items and photos that remind you of Colleen to bring to the celebration of life.
