Cheryl Ann Zipp

Mason, Michigan formerly of Calumet

Age 59, died February 17, 2014; born May 20, 1954 to Douglas and Laila (Johnson) Makela. Cheryl was giving and compassionate, putting others before herself. She was strong-willed and “she had so much sisu”. She worked as an RN for many years. Cheryl enjoyed gardening, was a member of Lansing Garden Club, cats, birds, knitting, “chooks” and sewing. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Mason. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Makela. Surviving are her husband, John; sons, David M. Zipp, Jeffrey P. (Angela J.) Zipp; daughter, Jamie M. (Scott) Clark; 6 grandchildren, Matthew, Ethan, Maylin Zipp, Owen, Jillian, Gloria Clark; her mother, Laila Makela; brothers, Douglas, Robert and Stacey Makela. The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Mason, 131 E. Maple, Mason, MI. Contributions in Cheryl’s memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Mason.
