Amy Lynn Hines

She was born in 1973 in Lansing, Michigan to John Treloar and Cheryl Kompsi, and grew up to be a kind, compassionate person. That compassion led her to become a child and family therapist, dedicated to helping those in pain, and to bringing comfort to everyone around her.

In October 2003, she married Jim Hines. Together, they raised two amazing children, Skylar and Jamie. A lifelong animal-lover, Amy kept her home well-stocked with pets, often animals she had rescued from shelters or the street.

She loved the outdoors, considering the Upper Peninsula her true home.

Amy was preceded in death by her Uncle Willy, Uncle Pat, Great Uncle Randy, and her grandparents. She’s survived by her husband and children, her parents, her brothers Randy, Guy, and Jack, and her nieces and nephews Kailee, Daryn, Leah, Andrew, and Jack.

A memorial and celebration of Amy’s life will be held Sunday, September 8 at 2 p.m. at Burchfield Park, Overlook Pavilion, 881 Grovenburg Rd., Holt. Park admission will be waived for those attending the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Amy’s memory to Saint Vincent Catholic Charities or the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan.
