Joanne E. (Guy) Walther, 73 of Snohomish WA, departed this world on November 30th, 2021. She was born in Everett, WA on June 6th of 1948, and grew up in Marysville, WA. She was born to William R. Guy and Virgina L. (Porter) Guy. Joanne graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Her passion of taking care of people’s teeth led her to a 45+ year career in Snohomish County.
Joanne married Ronald E. Walther in January of 1984 at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Swans Trail in Snohomish, WA. She spent the next 38 years farming, gardening, canning, chopping firewood, sewing and crocheting, and enjoying all of life’s adventures. She just couldn’t give up her cows, many house projects, and wild birds even till the very end. Even though there were many things that tied her to her house, she enjoyed traveling to many places in the United States, especially California and Hawaii, and Canada with family and friends. With an interest in family ancestry, she traveled to Europe in 2014 and walked the land where her great grandfather lived. She got to experience her families’ history and culture. Joanne is survived by her husband Ronald, her sons Jeremy Reichelt (Melissa), and Barry Walther (Hilary). She enjoyed spending time with her four amazing grandchildren, cherishing every single moment she could with them. The first two came rather closely together, as the two boys were born 21 hours apart, what a head spinning joyous moment! (Liam Reichelt 6, Odin Walther 6, Ruby Walther 4, and Kelsi Reichelt almost 3). Joanne is also survived by two remaining brothers Kenneth (Marilyn) Guy, Gerald Guy, and previously deceased William P. (and his surviving wife Betty) Guy.
A private family burial will be held on December 17th, 2021. With plans for an outdoor memorial in the spring of 2022, at her favorite waterfront park, Boxcar Park in Everett, WA, to celebrate Joanne’s life and love of Ron, her children, grandchildren, and family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joanne Walther’s name to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County.
Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home is honored to be caring for Joanne and her family during this time. We invite you to leave fond memories and expressions of sympathy here on our website or at Joanne Walther | Facebook.
