She passed away on March 19, 2020 in Everett, WA.
Geraldine loved to travel from revival to revival, camp meeting to camp meeting sharing her singing ministry. She started traveling with Evangelist Harold Carpenter and her brother Harold Enick. She was also the Mother of the Tulalip Worship Center. She traveled with her sons Pastor Ron Iukes Sr. and Assistant Pastor Nelson Iukes Jr. to different reservations where she made friends and prayed for everyone she came across with a need.
She attended school in Burlington, WA where she participated in the marching band where she played multiple instruments. She completed up to the 10th grade, and then moved on to complete her GED from Everett community college while working full time.
She moved to San Jose, California and started working at See’s Candy and she was also a nanny. She later moved back home to Washington state and begin working at the Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe of Washington, Tulalip Casino, Tulalip Bingo, AM/PM, Seafirst Bank, Rainer Bank. She also worked with the Tulalip Tribes in the finance department for years where she retired.
Geraldine was the matriarch of the family and was also a mother and grandmother figure to a lot of people in her community. If there was a need she would do her best to try and fulfill it. She always had time to stop and pray with anyone in need.
Geraldine attended and traveled for all sports her children and grandchildren played. She was their biggest fan. She supported the Tulalip Hoyas, the Firetrail chief’s and miss-chief’s and any other Tulalip teams that there were. She enjoyed all sports: basketball, baseball, softball, soccer and football. She was always supporting any tribal members who participated and would always help them with funds to travel to different tournaments on different reservations. She was at every High School game for both Marysville Pilchuck High School and Tulalip Heritage.
Geraldine was a very avid old western movie fanatic. She enjoyed watching John Wayne, Bonanza, Gunsmoke to name a few. At any time you could go sit in her room and she would have Jimmy Swaggart playing.
She leaves behind her loving husband Arthur “Hank” Williams Sr. and her children, Ron Iukes Sr. (Julie), Rose Iukes (Eddie), Nelson Iukes Jr., Waynetta Iukes, George Williams, Jacqueline Battle, Jobey Williams, and Veronica Iukes (Marcus), Arthur H. Williams Jr (Diane), Carnegie Williams (Paula), Elmer Williams, and Allen Iukes. Geraldine and Hank were also foster parents and cared for over 40 foster children. She also leaves behind her Sisters: Edith Enick, Phyliss Enick, Francine Ike, Georgina Bueno, Connie White and her brother Darrell Enoch. She has 45 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents George and Rose Enick, her brothers; Louis Enick, Okie Joe, Harold Enick and Gerald Enick, her sisters; Rose Williams and Elanore (Christine) Enick and Emily Enick. Her Son, Byron Iukes and Her grandchildren: Lateesha Jack, Malachi Baby Boy Battle and James Titus Jack.
Her passion was serving the Lord and she always encouraged her kids and grandkids with the scriptures: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” And Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
There will be a church service on Saturday April 17th, 2021 at 6pm at the Tulalip Worship Center 3107 Rueben Shelton Drive Tulalip, WA 98271
Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday April 18th, 2021starting at 9am @ the Tulalip Gathering Hall 7512 Totem Beach Rd Tulalip, WA 98271
