William "Curly" Wesley Kidd

William "Curly" Wesley Kidd, 81, of Axton, Va. passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. He was born April 20, 1942 to Robert Fulton Kidd, Sr. and Hester Kate Wilson Kidd of Axton, Va. In addition to his parents, Wesley was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Gauldin Kidd; brothers, Robert Fulton Kidd, Jr.; Lewis Edward Kidd, Sr., and James Otis Kidd; sisters, Erva Kidd Webb, Doris Kidd Moore and Mildred Lorene Kidd Gilley; two nephews and a niece. He is survived by his sisters, Betty Ruth Nichols and Marie Kidd Parker, both of Collinsville, Va.; brother, Douglas Stokes Kidd, Sr. of Martinsville, Va.; many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Wesley worked at Pannill Knitting Company, Sara Lee and Bassett Walker. He was an avid bowler with the Henry County Parks and Recreation Seniors. He loved watching western movies and wrestling. One of his favorite foods to eat was hot dogs and that was his last meal. He was a great brother and very friendly person who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Monday, November 6, 2023 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm will be officiated by Elder Kenny Bowles. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. McKee-Stone Funeral Home is serving the family.
