Sarah Wilson Quessenberry

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar S. Quessenberry; brothers, Daniel Wilson, Ralph Wilson, Roy Wilson, Joseph “JE” “Boat” Wilson, and Muscoe Lee Wilson; sisters, Geneva W. Martin, Marilyn W. Estep, Nora Talbert, Ilene W. Morton, and Allie W. Payne.

She is survived by her daughters, Janie M. Horne (Barry) of Richmond, Va. and Kitty Quessenberry of Martinsville, Va.; grandchildren, Emmett R. Hamersley (Stephanie), Mitch B. Hamersley (Erin) and Nick B. Meredith; great grandchildren, Quin, Fisher, Jace, Emma and Riley; many in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

Sarah was a charter member of Woodland Heights Free Will Baptist Church.

She was a very family oriented person who loved and cared for all of her family. She also loved gardening, working in flowers, working puzzles and playing video games.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Woodland Heights Free Will Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm and will be officiated by Jack Horsley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodland Heights Free Will Baptist Church, 1995 Old Chatham Road, Martinsville, Va. 24112.
