Mollie Cardwell Wilkins

Mollie Cardwell Wilkins, 84, of Murphy, Texas and formerly of Martinsville, VA, died Saturday, December 6, 2014 at her home in Texas. She was born in Martinsville, Virginia on February 25, 1930 to Thomas Edward Cardwell and Mollie Gemima Pratt Cardwell. Mollie was a graduate of Lynchburg College and she provided 28 years of dedicated service to Hawthorne School District in CA as a special education teacher retiring in 1991. She was active with church choir and scouting. During her retirement she spent time at home in Falls Church Virginia and Indian Lake Estates Florida accompanying her husband Dan on annual competitions with SPEBSQSA. After Dan’s passing, she moved to Murphy TX to be with her sons, Daniel and James. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Fred Wilkins, Sr., her sisters, Doris Burnett Cardwell Thomas, Nellie Irene Cardwell and Ruby Thelma Cardwell Mooradian and her brothers, James Edward Cardwell, John Pratt Cardwell, Homer Morton Cardwell, Raymond Theodore Cardwell and Thomas Frank Cardwell. Surviving are her sons, Daniel Fred Wilkins, Jr. and James William Wilkins both of Murphy, TX , sister, Rebecca Lou Cardwell Moore of Pine Knoll Shores, NC and sister-in-law, Dorothy Cardwell of Ridgeway, VA. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Burial Park with Rev. Mark B. Parkinson officiating.
