Mabel Stone Ingram, 93, of Martinsville, passed away on May 10, 2017 at King’s Grant Retirement Community. She was born on January 16, 1924 in Vinton, Va. to Dillard and Lucy Turner Stone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband E. Johnson Ingram; her siblings and her daughter-in-law, Antonella Segato Ingram. Mabel was a life-long resident of Martinsville/Henry County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church Martinsville where she was an active member of Reed-Robins Sunday school class and a food bank volunteer. She was a member of the Book and Arts Club and was honored to be a 25 year volunteer for Hospice of Martinsville Memorial Hospital. At King’s Grant, she was involved in the choir and welcoming new residents. Survivors include two daughters, Olivia Hiller (Dr. Larry Hiller) of Shreveport, La. and Eleanor Ingram (Alan Graf) of Floyd, Va.; a son, Charles Ingram of Vicenza, Italy; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and loving sisters- in-law, nieces and nephews. Following a private family interment, a memorial service will be held at King’s Grant Victory Chapel on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at 3:00 pm with Chaplain Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Ben Lewis, the staff of King’s Grant, and Mountain Valley Hospice.
