Sylvia J Rawlett

Born September 9, 1931 in Four Oaks, North Carolina, she is the daughter of the late Elvin Anderson Roddey and Effie LaVare Williams Roddey.

Sylvia was always an active church member and has been a youth leader and Sunday school teacher. She currently attended Bethel Assembly of God. She also was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s.

Sylvia will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 24 years, Thomas C. Rawlett; three sons; William F. Hinson, Jr and wife Heather of Blacksburg, VA, Steven E. Hinson, Sr. of Richmond, VA, Randy Hinson and wife Katherine of Martinsburg, WV; four grandchildren; Claire Flowers Waggener of Muncie, IN, Steven E. Hinson, Jr of Richmond, VA, Richard A. Hinson of Blacksburg, VA, and Skylar R. Hinson of Martinsburg, WV; one sister in law, Tella Roddey of Tucson, AZ; and beloved family members residing in AZ and NC.

Sylvia is preceded in death by one brother, Earl Anderson Roddey

Friends may call at 1:45pm to 2:30pm at Calvary United Methodist Church in Martinsburg, WV on Sunday, September 4, 2011.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 2:30pm at Calvary United Methodist, Martinsburg, WV.

Interment will be Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 1pm at Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton, VA.
