Ruth Alverta Statler, 79 of Martinsburg passed away in her home on October 17, 2022. Daughter of Frances Ida (Lohman) Myers-Webber and the late Reverend Herbert Franklin Myers, she was born on February 7, 1943 in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
Ruth attended Boonsboro High School through the end of her junior year, then completed studies and earned a G.E.D. as an adult. She enjoyed relaxing with her latest crochet-piece in hand while snuggling with her special fur-babies, Spencer and Cheyenne. For the past several years Ruth had been donating hand-crocheted hats to the Samaritan's Purse Organization to be gifted to children in need through their annual Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Outreach Program. Most of all, she enjoyed exploring new places and experiencing new adventures in life with her fun-loving, very dear friend of many years, Sharon Smith.
Ruth is survived by her mother, Frances Myers-Webber; brother, Carl Myers; two sisters: Diane (and Shane) French and Kay Pepa; a most special and caring friend, Sharon Smith; as well as her two fur-babies and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Ruth is also preceded in death by her twin sister, M. Naomi Younger.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 beginning at 2pm. The service will take place at Hagerstown First Church of God in Hagerstown, MD, and will be officiated by Pastor David Sword.
