Russell F. Alexander

Russell Francis Alexander, 66, passed from this life on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Berkeley Medical Center. Born on January 29, 1948 in Winchester, VA, he was the son of the late William D. Alexander, Jr. and Charlotte (Barham) Alexander.

Russell was a 1968 graduate of James Wood High School. He was retired from the Internal Revenue Service where he worked as a Computer Operator. He was also an active member of the Moose Lodge #120/WOTM Chapter 738 in Martinsburg, and a member of the Winchester County “Caddies” Club.

Russ was an avid outdoorsman, who had a passion for hunting and fishing. In addition, he loved spending quality time with his two grandsons. He was a unique individual who enjoyed making new friends out of strangers.

He is survived by his son Craig Alexander and wife, Sandra of Martinsburg; one daughter, Tina Hissam and husband, Jeff of Martinsburg; two brothers, William D. “Denny” Alexander, III and wife Karen of Winchester, Gary Alexander of Winchester; and by two grandchildren, Mason and Shaun Alexander; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind two life-long dear friends, Ricky Lightcap and Brian Frazee.

Memorial services for Russ will be held at a later date to be announced by the family.
