Larry Kindal Owen

Born on December 22, 1948 to the late Johnie and Carrie Owen in Farmer, NC.

Larry was proudly a Vietnam War veteran who served in the U.S Army and was awarded multiple medals for his service, including: the Purple Heart medal, Army good conduct medal, Bronze star medal with one oak leaf cluster and the republic of Vietnam gallantry cross with palm unit citation, awarded to military units that distinguished themselves in battle. Larry had many interests, one included Nascar, where he was an early driver himself. He also loved to cook, he would make fantastic meals for his family to all enjoy together. In his downtime Larry enjoyed to fish and hunt.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Sherry Owen, their 6 children, Lisa Owen, Misti Owen, Aurelie Langlitz and husband Mark, Lorie Mullan and husband Mike, Julie Slye, Christina Brill and husband Chad. Larry was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Mercedes, Jade, Tyler, Austin, Daniel, Gabe, Shyra, Austin, Hope, Hannah, Kaileigh, and 5 great grandchildren, Lincoln, Emberleigh, Blake, Lilah, and Elias. A sister Barbara Lequire, and one niece, Selena Martin.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 1:00pm at Rosedale Cemetery with Pastor Nancy Paige officiating.
