Born on August 29, 1964 in Leesburg, Virginia, he was the son of Barbara Lee Frye and the late John Donlan Gletner Sr.
After Donnie graduated from Loudon Valley High School in 1982, he went on to have a 40 year career while being a federal employee. Donnie began his career as a carpenter and worked his way up to being a certified cost engineer with US Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Middle East District.
Donnie loved to fish, hunt, garden, and he had an absolute love and passion for all things meteorology related.
In 2014, Donnie married Trina Hammond Gletner in Key West, Florida.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Trina Hammond Gletner; and his older sister, Kathy Gletner Weyzen.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children: Rebekah Marshall Gletner and Nikolas George Gletner; and his younger sister, Mary Kay Gletner Kobayashi.
Family and friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Wednesday, July, 31 2024 from 5:00-8:00pm. Private graveside services will be held in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
