Born on November 1, 1953 in Harpers Ferry, WV he was the son of the late James and Annie Dunn.
James was well known and loved by all that knew him, and he was a member of Moose Lodge 120 since 2009.
James spent his life serving his community and from his early teen years till he was in his 40’s he served as a Volunteer Fireman in numerous departments. He was also in the Police Department for Shepherdstown WV, and retired from Shepherdstown University Police Department in 2016. After retiring he served as a guard at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debra Dunn; children: Diane Watkins (Roger), Kelley Parsons (Mike) and Jamie Dunn (Christy); grandchildren: Rhiannon Turner, Dylan Turner, Ronan Turner, Austin Parsons, Cameron Parsons and several siblings, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson Tyler Parsons.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home on March 25, 2024 from 4- 8 pm.
