Born on February 22, 1957, he was the son of the late George Edwin and Rosette Naomi Ramsburg Armstrong.
Elmer was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors and spent a lot of his time in the mountains or on the river and streams. His newest hobbies were trout fishing and solving crossword puzzles. He wasn’t without skills, he remodeled his family’s home and learned electric and plumbing from his dear friend, Jerry Powell. He also did landscaping and gardening and saved thousands by doing his own auto repairs. Elmer spent many years working in welding, construction, and finished out in sheet metal. His family was everything to him and he loved all of his children and grandchildren dearly.
He was of Methodist Faith and was baptized on May 25, 2022.
Elmer will be sadly missed by his wife who he married on August 17, 2004, Tonja Kathleen Armstrong; his children: Nicole Wyndham and husband, Donnie, Jeff Stagner, Philip Jason Miller and wife, Nicole, Earl Michael Armstrong, Jr. and wife, Heather, Kathleen Rosetta Low and husband, Chris, and Makayla Lynn Armstrong; grandchildren: Trey and Trinity Wyndham, Valerie Stagner, Ayden Miller, Michael Lee, Lucy Quinn, Charlie Evelyn, Marquel Tre’Marlo, Dorothy Jane and Tonja Octavia-Renea Armstrong; and his brother: George William, James Philip, Roger Lee, David Wayne, and Fred Allen Armstrong.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Charles Armstrong and Earl Michael Armstrong Sr.; grandchild, Malachi Wyndham; and niece, Casey Renae Armstrong.
