Donald Eugene Nisewarner, 90 of Martinsburg, passed away at home on April 17, 2023 with his family by his side.
Born on January 15, 1933 in Bessmer, WV, he was the son of the late Charles and Lillie Nisewarner.
Don loved his family and was a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch talking with his neighbors, working in the yard with his flowers, and planting a garden. He was a life member of VFW, AMVETS, and Fellowship Church of the Brethren.
He was in the United States Navy from 1950-1953 and served in the Korean War. He worked for the Metropolitan Police Department in DC as a patrolman and then as a Warehouse
Manager for HASCO for 28 years in St. Charles, Missouri where he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ours Nisewarner; children: Debra Nisewarner Gillum, Pamela Nisewarner McCord, Terry A. Nisewarner, and Jeffrey L. Nisewarner; step- children: Stephen Crim, Tommy Crim, Jeffrey Crim, and Brenda Quaglio; sister, Vivian Ruppenthal; eight grandchildren, two step- grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary L. Staubly Nisewarner and his second wife,
Georgiana Bowles Nisewarner: children: Donald E. Nisewarner Jr. and Lisa S. Cox; grandchild, Justin L. Nisewarner; and siblings: Charles (Bucky) Nisewarner, William D. Nisewarner, Jerry L. Nisewarner and Phyllis Voorhees.
There will be a Church Celebration of Life at 3:30pm on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Fellowship Church of the Brethren in Martinsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Panhandle.
