Carolyn Jean Gregory

Born on September 1, 1948, she was the daughter of the late George B. Cole and Dolly V. Shirley Cole of Hedgesville.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle A. “Butch” Gregory; a sister, Catherine Cole Sheppard; and a brother, Richard L. Cole, all of Hedgesville.

Affectionately known as “Carol”, she is survived by two brothers: Zack R. Cole and wife, Doris of Gallup, NM, and George E. Cole and wife, Joanne of Hedgesville; and five sisters: Georgia Cole Wood, Dolly Cole Dunham and husband, Ray, Elma Cole Twigg and husband, Forrest, Patty Cole Dunham and husband, Rex (all of Hedgesville), and Connie Cole of Martinsburg. Although Carol had no children of her own, that void was filled by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much!

She attended Hedgesville Schools and was employed by Corning Glass Works for 36 years. Carol was a faithful attendee of Central Chapel of Ganotown, WV.

Carol loved crocheting and crafting and blessed many family members with her creations.

Funeral services will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 1pm. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Following the services, there will be a time of food and fellowship at Central Chapel, Ganotown, WV.
