Born on August 25, 1943 in Olney, Maryland, he was the son of the late Jacob and Velvia Shifflett.
Bruce loved his family and the Christmas Season, and he enjoyed sports. He also enjoyed the Retirement Life after working 43 years for the State of Maryland.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Melissa Shifflett; his sons: Bruce Shifflett Jr. and Jacob Shifflett; grandchildren: Lauren and Kylee Shifflett and David and Kathryn Smith; siblings: Jacob Shifflett (Frances), Cleveland Shifflett (Mellisa), Willis Shifflett (Carolyn), Dennis Shifflett (Tanya), Vernette Barth (Terrance) Blanette Owens, and Jeanette Gallup (Charles); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to this parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cassandra P. Smith; and sisters: Beatrice Crocker, Edith Salley, and Paulette Shifflett.
Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Judes or Tunnel to Towers.
