Mr. Roman enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, picnics, dominos and spending time with his family. All of the nurses that have cared for him through the years have loved him as he was a kind-hearted man. Mr. Roman served in the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He earned several awards including: 2 Bronze Star Medals, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal—7th Award, National Defense Service Medal with 1 bronze service star, Vietnam Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge—1st Award and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with device. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather.
Mr. Roman is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo Roman and Juana Cruz; and daughter, Angela “Angie” Roman. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Felicita Ortega-Morales Roman; children, Domingo Reyes Ortega, Josephine Rivera, Pablo Roman Ortega, Carmen Nunez, Felix Roman Ortega and Julia Roman Ortega; sister, Pitin Cruz; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12pm, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
