Marilyn was born September 13, 1943, to the late Joseph and Christine Merchant. She graduated from Compton High School in 1961. She continued her educational journey at Compton College and graduated in 1963. She retired from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft.
Marilyn enjoyed sewing, spending time with her dogs Onyx and Flex. She was an advocate for gun violence prevention and was actively involved in the MOMS Demand Action Organization.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her son Keith Manuel, brother Joey Merchant, sister Mickey Merchant. She is survived by her son Kyle Manuel-Jackson, daughter in law Janine Manuel-Jackson; grandchildren Deshaun Washington, Justin Dears, Kamryn Everett, Kai Jackson, Clydell White, Zoey Carr, Keith Jackson III; great grandchildren DJ, Xaiver, Legend and Zylah.
Marilyn will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit and unwavering dedication to her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 12:00pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road Martinez, Georgia 30907.
