Jacquie dedicated her life to mathematics education, influencing many students and teachers. Jacquie earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Wake Forest University, a master’s degree in mathematics education from the University of Florida, an education specialist degree in administration and supervision from the University of Georgia and a doctorate in mathematics education from the University of Georgia.
She served as a mathematics educator in Newport News, Virginia, Alachua County, Florida, and locally at West Side High School and Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School. She also served as the Mathematics/Instructional Computer Coordinator for the Richmond County School System.
Beyond her professional life, Jacquie found joy in gardening, reading, traveling, and fine dining. Her commitment to service was evident through her volunteer work with the Lydia Project, which supports individuals battling cancer. Jacquie was a longtime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Augusta, where she served as Deacon and Elder, sang in the church choir and was a member of the handbell choir.
Jacquie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Allison, her sons Jay Allison of Bellevue, WA, and David Allison of Hillsborough, NC, her brother Robert Andrews III of Raleigh, NC, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Andrews, Jr., and Ruth Andrews.
A memorial service to celebrate Jacquie’s life will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Augusta, GA, on December 23rd at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church in Augusta, GA.
Jacquie’s legacy of education, service, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
