Mr. J.D. Lingo, 87, passed away in his sleep with family by his side on April 18, 2016, in Augusta, Georgia. He was born on January 29, 1929, to William and Amy Lingo. On July 2, 1952, he married Esther Marylene McBride. J.D. enjoyed gardening, bird watching, fishing, and life outdoors.
He served his country during the Korean War in the Navy.
He worked as a Supervisor for Corning Glass Work in Albion, Michigan, and later transferred to West Virginian, retiring in 1984.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Marylene (Mary); his son and two daughters, Rick and Becky Lingo of Davisville, West Virginia, Renee and Bobby Gruber of Augusta, Georgia, and Vicki and Philip Cape of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in going to heaven by his parents, his grandparents, and his daughter Tonia.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at 11am in the Elliott Sons Funeral Home Columbia Road Chapel, Augusta, Georgia.
