Wayne Vincent Sanchez

Wayne Vincent Sanchez passed away April 4, 2018 at the age of 72. Born August 16, 1945 to the late Maynard and Josephine Sanchez, Wayne was a lifelong resident of the Westbank. Wayne was a great man with a fierce personality who loved to camp, travel, and make use of his hands by building anything and everything; a shrimp boat was built by Wayne in his backyard, along with multiple residential structures. Survived by his loving wife of 39 years Janis Sanchez; Daughter, Bobbie Jo Blanchard (Whitney); Grandchildren Harley Mason (Corey), Jade Vest, and J.T. Vest; Great grandchildren Bella Mason, Paisley Mason, Jasmine Henry and Whitney Blanchard; One nephew Maynard J. Sanchez III; Great nieces Brenda Mackey, Megan Sanchez, and Karen Stanford. Preceded in death by his parents Maynard and Josephine Sanchez; brothers Maynard J. Sanchez Jr. and Paul Preston Sanchez. Friends of the family are encouraged to attend a funeral service at 11:00am on Saturday April 7, 2018 with visitation being held from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Friday April 6, 2018, and from 9:00am-11:00am on Saturday April 7, 2018. All services will be held at WESTSIDE LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPY MARRERO, LOUISIANA. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna.
