Mr. Victor Henry Funck

Victor Henry Funck of New Orleans passed away early on the morning of April 2, 2024, he was 82. He is survived by his wife Judith Buquoi Funck, son Victor Michael Funck (Vicki), daughter Patricia Funck DeShetler (Matthew). Stepchildren Hope, Grace, Jude, Parrish, and Paul. Grandchildren Amanda, Andy, Victor Michael II, Tiffany, Victoria, Amber, Chrystal and Emma. Numerous Great Grandchildren. Half sisters Joyce and Belinda. Niece Julie Swaney (Henry) and many other nieces and nephews. Born on September 1, 1941 of Rosemary and John Funck. He joins them in death along with his former wives Beverly and Ruth, son Benny, and siblings John Jr., Beverly, Jaime, Dorothy, Sharlene, Arlene, Billy and Jimmy.

During his life, Victor worked for Western Union, United and Yellow Cab companies, Circle Supply, National Tape and Western Sizzlin. At various times he owned and operated the Magnolia Grill, Tracy's Lounge, Victor's Lounge and VJ's Liquor Store. He was Captain of the J-Birds Carnival Club and was very involved in the Gretna Senior Center. Victor was also the former PTA President at St. Julian Eymard Catholic School. He was an avid Saints, Tulane and LSU fan.

Victor had a heart as big as Lake Pontchartrain and was always helping others no matter the cost to him. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM and the committal service will immediately follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna.
