Todd L. Barlow passed away peacefully on April 21, 2023 at the age of 58. He was born in Kenner, Louisiana on July 10, 1964 to the late Quitman and Freddie J. Barlow. Dedicated husband of 12 years to Sherry Mendez Barlow. Loving father of Kayla Carter (Adam), Logan Barlow and Stepdaughter Alexis Dohner (Jacob). Grandfather of Katlyn, AJ and Khloe. Proud brother of Quitman Lee Barlow, and Mary "Nancy" Barlow Guidry. Uncle of Adam Guidry (Cydney), Madison Hunter and Mason Hunter. Todd is also survived by other extended family, dear friends and his 2 precious fur babies Nyla Pooh and Kia Marie.
Todd is a native of Kenner, Louisiana but has resided in Waggaman for the past 10 years with his devoted wife and his loving pets. He was a member of the Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 13349, a volunteer with the Live Oak Manor Fire Department and was named a 2023 Hero with N.O.F.A. NOLA - No One Fights Alone. Todd was a deputy with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office in the 80's before spending more than 20 years in the oil and gas industry running marine operations.
Todd shared a love of hunting, fishing, and shooting firearms with his son Logan. He was a devoted Louisiana sports fan with his favorites including UL, Tulane, and of course his beloved LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. Above all, Todd’s favorite pastime was bowling. Being introduced to the sport by his mother and brother Lee at the age of 4, it quickly became a passion that lasted well over 50 years. He earned a multitude of awards and accolades over the years including several 800 series and perfect 300 games. It was this love of bowling that led him to meet his wife Sherry, an avid bowler herself. Some of their fondest memories include competing in tournaments together with their closest friends across the country as well as participating in multiple leagues at his favorite bowling center, Colonial Lanes in Harahan, LA.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, April 29, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. Funeral Mass will begin at 2:00 PM in the onsite chapel. A private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family asks that you please consider a donation in Todd's name to N.O.F.A.- No One Fights Alone www.nofanola.org or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for all of the prayers, love and support they have received over the years throughout Todd’s courageous battle, especially from the bowling community. Todd is being laid to rest in his favorite bowling jersey; guests are welcomed to sport their favorite bowling attire as well (optional).
