Robert "Bob" James Mire, age 77 of Cottonport, LA was called to his Eternal Home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus. He was born July 11, 1944 in Marrero, LA, the son of the late John Sylvester Mire, Sr., and Mary Grace DiPascal Mire. Also predeceased by three brothers, John S. Mire Jr. (Claudette), Jerry Mire (Geraldine "DeeDee") and Tommy Mire (Becky). Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Cambre Mire; his three daughters Heidi V. Mire, Holly E Mire Price (Mark), and Heather B. Mire Annulis (Keith); one granddaughter, Cambre Catherine Annulis; two step-granddaughters, Lindsey Price and Kelsey Price; and one step great-grandson, Sutton Osborne. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
Bob served his country in the Louisiana Air National Guard for 16 years as a flight chief. He worked with Shell Oil Company for 32 years and retired 22 years ago. He loved his family, gardening, cooking, and making people laugh. His giving heart touched many.
The family would like to express special thanks to their best friends Leroy and Mary Knott of Cottonport for all of their support during this time.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
